Census of Governments (Finance)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A Census of Governments is taken at five-year intervals, offering nationwide, comprehensive state and local government finance information. The Census of Governments (Government Finance) provides statistics on revenues, expenditures, debt, and assets for the 50 states and D.C.
Census of Government Finance tables “by local government type" provide fiscal data for county governments; municipal governments; township governments; special district governments; and school district governments. Tables “by county area" provide fiscal data for all local governments within a single county jurisdiction.
